Since the last post, I have mainly been working on Stretch/Explore and Engage/Persist
I have been following the Stretch/Explore habit by trying out many new medias. Two days ago I made a plaster mask and today I am planning on trying some subtractive art techniques. Normally I don't make art in three dimensions. I have only used canvases/paper to make art before. This stuff is very new to me but it is kinda fun. I have been following the Engage/Persist category by continuing my artworks even when they don't turn out. I'm not used to making three dimensional art so I am running into some problems when creating my artworks. Luckily, I am a very good problem solver and I don't give up easily.

Today's work was a mix between Stretch/Explore and Develop/Craft. Fist of all, I dont regularly work in three dimensions. Two dimensional art is usually my forte, but today I branched out and created a Styrogami artwork and a repurposed book artwork. buth of these were a bit out of my comfort zone, but I thought I would try them. Also, working with the exacto knife in the book was actually a lot of fun. I think later in the year I'm going to make one of my official artworks that way.
This year my main goal is to branch out more. Usually in art classes I mainly use some variation of pencils to create my artworks. This year I'm hoping to do some very different ideas. This summer i had an idea for a melted crayon artwork, a kinetic sculpture made entirely of paper and glue, and a tensegrity sculpture of some kind. These things are usually out of my comfort zone, but I'm gonna try it anyway.
